Welcome to the 2021 Season!

After a long and often difficult period over the last year and a half, we have finally received the permit/approval to formally begin the 2021 cricket season at Woodley Parks and other satellite facilities. The SCCA administrators have been working tirelessly to prepare for the opening day now scheduled for June 12, 2021.

Below is a summary of the relevant updates and information:

  1. All current COVID-19 protocols must be adhered to by all players and officials.

Details will be constantly reviewed and posted on the SCCA website.

  1. All players are requested to comply with the individual waivers process and be registered with USA cricket. This is an essential requirement to participate in our league as it ensures proper insurance coverage for all players.
  2. Kenny has released the schedule for the season which will be duly posted on our website. This year’s scheduling has been particularly difficult due to the delayed start. We hope everyone will respect the decision to play a full one-day season which does not leave any wiggle room for changes.
  3. We will be converting our scoring to CricClubs app-based platform. It will be mandatory for all teams to use this tool going forward. A full and committed compliance across the board will ensure efficient data/records for everyone.
  4. We have offered two umpiring seminars. One on Zoom which focused on educating and updating our umpires and the other scheduled for June 5/6 weekend, which will be used to grade umpires based on a written test. Umpiring assignments will be based on the grades and competence as derived from these two sessions. Details on fees structure will be posted on our website shortly.
  5. Our treasurer, Mansoor, will be sending out invoices with club dues for the year by June 5/6 weekend. Kindly ensure payments are made in a timely manner – Deadline: June 30, 2021.
  6. SCCA will be launching the first season of Junior League Cricket with 4 teams participating in each of the U14 and U18 age categories.

SCCA will always maintain primary focus on safety of all members and requests everyone to do their part as well.

Please pick up trash after your games and leave the parks clean and tidy.

Best Wishes to All Participants. Let us Enjoy and Celebrate the return of Cricket!
