Stand With Kerala - Kerala Flood Relief

My home state of Kerala in India, is going thru its worst floods in almost a century.

The rains have been almost non-stop since the onset of Monsoon in late May. There are over 80 dams (35 major ones) and reservoirs in the lush green state known as God’s Own Country and marked by National Geographic, as one of the 50 must see destinations of a lifetime .

Now all these reservoirs are full and overflowing due to the heavy rains and the famed backwaters and wild life sanctuaries are over flooded. Some estimates say that almost 70% of the state is flooded and 13 of the 14 states affected, with lots of people displaced and in relief camps.

San Diego Malayalees provides an eaiser option to donate to the flood relief efforts and is a 501c3 charitable organization. Your donations thru San Diego Mayalees could be tax deductible and also applicable for Emploer matching depending on the company. Please check their website for more details and FAQ.

The Kerala Chief Minister’s disaster relief fund has set up a donation portal had more updates on the situation -

If anyone like to check and donate, please use the option above. You can also reach out to me and that I can coordinate what I can.

Thanks, Kenny
