Match Report: Pacifica Vs Redlands Played on Sat 07/07/2012 10:00 AM
Result: Redlands Lost by 3 Wickets

Report by Pacifica:
Good effort by Pacifica's lower middle order to win the match :)

On a SUPER Hot day Pacifica was asked to field first by Redlands. Pacifica was eaglerly waiting for this match since their first encounter with Redlands over a month ago in marina vista and did quiet a bit of home work to ground the star studded batting line up of Redlands. Pacifica started aggressively by removing opener Dheeraj with hardly any runs on board, then came Shreyas who threatened to take game away from pacifica with his clean hitting through ON side. Few strokes were just a treat to watch. Pacifica responded sensibly and bolwed with extra dicipline to low down the run rate. With Shreyas still at crease any score of 230-240 looked a strong possiblity. One High QUALITY over from Sunil tilted the game towards pacifica. It was a wonderful plot to set up a top quality batsmen, throw a bait and wait for batsmen to fall in trap and commit the mistake which Shreyas did by playing across on very last ball of that over to get the maximum out of  7(off)-2 (On) field and got bowled. Pacifica was able to make few more key break throughs later but Majunu and Nimesh played till the end and took Redlands to a decent score of 179 in 40 overs thanks to some generous dropping of catches by pacifica players.

With small boundaries and scorching temperatures pacifica were happy to chase 180 but kept loosing wickets at regular intervals and looked in a deep crisis with their captain Preetham departing for a good looking  23 runs and still 100 runs to get @ 5.5 runs an over. Pacificas lower middle order pair Chaitu (44)and Dhana (42) played sensibly and attacked consistently to unsettle Redlands bowlers and brought Pacifica home with still 5 overs to spare.
Over all it was a friendly game played between two teams with good spirits. Good luck Redlands for remaining games and hopefully the race for top spot in division 5 gets tighter and tighter and may the best team wins the division. :)

Regards,
Pacifica.

P.S: A Sweet revenge accomplished :)
