With Fontana pitch back to its glory, we knew SD 2 team would feel a punch from Citrus Valley CC. SD 2 is the only team we lost so far on their home turf (or home matting).  Citrus won the toss and were happy to bat first on a beautiful green top hard surface with the ball anticipated to come on to bat. Ricky and Shakeel opened the innings and Ricky played some glorious shots to all corners of the field. Coming out of a little slump, he was on a rampage. Shakeel was his usual self being aggressive from the get go, but on a pitch which was fast and seaming, lost his wicket from an excellent delivery from SD opening bowler. Next came Salman, Mr. Reliable and with some exceptional mental strength built his innings once more. He was looking really good with some gorgeous cricket shots along side the ground, when he was run out due to a collision a with SD fielder. It looked like there was no other way he would be out. Marcus continued his form, playing his innings methodically and, as always, beautifully. His agility, running between the wickets and putting bad balls away are the qualities only a few players have. With the strong batting line Citrus has, it was not surprising that Fahim Khan at no 7, entertained the crowd with some huge sixes and made 45 runs off 36 balls. The last wicket partnership between Fahim K and Yaser K was nearly 40 runs in 5 overs. SD 2 team was helpless and just watched the balls flying past the fielders. Citrus again had a formidable total of over 250 runs.

SD 2 changed their batting order to see if that would work, but once again opening bowlers of Citrus, Salman from one end and Elmore from the other end mesmerized SD batsmen. Salman bowled his first four overs maiden while Elmore started knocking off the stumps from his 2nd delivery. Elmore took 6 wicket for 10 runs and Salman took two wicket for 4 runs. At first change while SD batsmen thought the worst is over, here come Marcus with a spell from hell. His bowling will be thing to remember on Fontana pitch where SD batsmen just froze and actually seemed happy to be out. Yaser K bowled a couple of overs and had another stunning catch for his caught and bowled wicket. It was awesome to see these players improving with every game. They work very hard on their game and that is showing on the field. Again SD2 was no match for Citrus team . Citrus players ( Ricky, Shakeel , Fahim W and Yaser ) took some brilliant catches.
