Result: Santa Barbara Lost by 1 Wickets

It was a nice Saturday morning for a good game of cricket in Woodley. Santa Barbara won the toss and elected to Bat. It was a very nice wicket to bat on. But SB were not able to take advantage of the wicket or the toss. BnB bowlers Hitendra and Pranai came hard at the SB batsmen, putting pressure right from the start. Wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals.3 wickets down brought Imran the most successful batsman for SB till now. He started off his innings with a towering six straight down the ground. He meant business right away. Nalin and Imran added some vital runs to the team score before Imran was cleaned up as he was going for a huge one again. The SB tail contributed a little with the bat to take them to a respectable total of 147 to defend. SB were penalized 5 runs for being warned twice for running on the pitch.

BnB started the innings with Manju playing cautiously as usual and Pankaj with his hitting flamboyance. They added together 56 in 9 before Manju played on a sharp rising off spinner from Zaman. The wickets kept falling at regular intervals and at a certain point the below par score of 147 looked like a match winning total. BnB lost their 9th wicket with still 12 required to win. It was like Deja Vu. The same situation appeared between the same opponents at the same venue last season. It was Joydeep and Nishant saving the game and winning it with 1 wicket then but the roles were taken up by Suketu and Dipak this time around. Suketu played a very sensible innings with Kalpesh and finished it off with Dipak being the last wicket to give BnB their 4th win of the season.

Man of the Match: Pankaj [43(37)] for his brilliant batting display and Suketu [16*(25)] for his sensible batting and excellent keeping.
